Waikato Ki Roto o Poneke

On the 11 November 1994 a meeting was held at the Kohanga Reo Trust in Wellington and was attended by all Tainui - Waikato Maori and the late Dame Te Atairangikaahu.

It was at this meeting Dame Te Ata reaffirmed the name, 'Waikato Ki Roto o Poneke' for the ropu with the purpose of gathering into it's fold, all Tainui - Waikato Maori living in Wellington, and all under the umbrella of the Maori King Movement.
